Zac and Vanessa enjoy Hawaii break
High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens looked every inch the happy celebrity couple this week as they enjoyed their sun-soaked holidays in Hawaii.

The co-stars flew out to the island chain to attend the wedding of Zac's manager Jason Barrett but were pictured strolling hand-in-hand along the beach, exchange loving gazes and laughing together.

At one point, Vanessa, 19, looking stunning in a white linen dress with her long, tassled hair, threw her arms around Zac's neck as they shared a passionate kiss.

And Zac, 21, was certainly turning female heads - as he did famously at the recent London premiere of High School Musical 3 - by walking topless with a pair of dark green shorts which were barely pulled over his hips.

The pair have been spotted in public more regularly in recent months after finally confirming that they were an item off-screen as well as on-screen after considerable speculation in the media.

As Vanessa said last week: "It's hard not to have chemistry with someone who's attractive."

And they certainly have every reason to be happy, with the latest film taking a whopping $42 million - compared to its budget of just $13 million - at its box office opening last weekend, putting it straight in at number one.

That figure represented a record, replacing the ABBA-backed Mamma Mia!, which took around $28.7 million, at the top of the list.

It seems that the holiday has done the couple the world of good, as they looked happy in each other's company on their return to LAX airport.

They attempted to hide under hoodies but no one was fooled and they were pictured leaving the airport in a limousine.

It was announced recently that the success of the High School Musical films has led Paramount to fast-track a remake of hit 80s film Footloose with Zac starring in a role which will reportedly land him £5 million.

Disney has confirmed that there will be a fourth instalment of High School Musical but there are strong rumours that the showpiece couple are set to reject the chance to be involved.

A statement from the company read: "We are writing High School Musical 4. Are we going to have all the cast back? Probably not. Will we have some of them? I hope so."

Hawaii has been a popular destination for holidays for many years and it saw a total of over 7.6 million visitors last year, up considerably from the 6.3 million recorded in 2003.

As such, the region caters for the influx and there are a number of impressive hotels to pick from on arrival.
