With the Venice Film Festival in full flow, a number of celebrities have been spotted on holiday in the Italian sunshine - not least Pulp Fiction and Gattaca star Uma Thurman.
Thurman is in Italy with her financier fiance Arpad 'Arki' Busson, and has also been photographed spending time with fellow actor Liam Neeson and his wife Natasha Richardson.
However, it is pictures of her enjoying a topless dip in an Italian lake with Arki that have sparked the most interest.
The pair met at a dinner party in Milan last summer, with Thurman having only recently split from Andre Balazs, the New York hotelier she had been dating for three years.
Arki and Uma announced their engagement earlier this year, and have since enjoyed a star-studded engagement bash in a marquee positioned in the garden of Aki's home in Kensington.
This summer, the couple have chosen to spend some time on holiday aboard a luxury yacht in Italy - and, judging by the pictures, they appear to be enjoying each other's company.
Indeed, Thurman herself has elaborated on her current state of happiness and her hopes for the future - which possibly include more children.
The actress already has a son and a daughter from a previous marriage with fellow Gattaca star Ethan Hawke.
"If it's meant to happen, it will. I love and adore being a mother," she said in an interview with InStyle magazine recently, before admitting how much she is looking forward to tying the knot as it will give her "structure".
"I've never had good habits or a formula for how to shape a day, a month, a life, I appreciate anything that makes me focus," she explained.
Thurman is due in Venice alongside Gwyneth Paltrow to promote 'Valentino: The Last Emperor'.
Produced and directed by Matt Tyrnauer, the film is a depiction of the life of Italian fashion designer Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani.
Also in town are Hollywood heartthrobs George Clooney and Brad Pitt, who are promoting Joel and Ethan Coen's latest effort 'Burn After Reading', which also stars John Malkovich and Tilda Swinton.
The festival, which runs until September 6th, is also due to attract stars such as Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger.
It is little wonder given the setting - Venice is renowned as a hotspot for tourist
holidays given its architecturally magnificent buildings and grand
hotels, set alongside picturesque canals and oozing rich cultural pedigree.
The weather is also ideal for
holidays at this time of year - temperatures are currently in the high twenties to early thirties.
