All eyes this week were on the city of Paris, with the French capital hosting its annual fashion show.
This year's event was particularly special as it saw the retiring fashion maestro Valentino honoured for his services to the fashion industry to the decades.
Among the big names who descended upon the City of Light to pay their respects to the top designer were the top models Natalia Vodianova and Claudia Schiffer, while A-list couple Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson also took some time out from enjoying the world's most romantic city to head to the gala dinner held in the Pavillion d'Armenonville.
Also in the City of Light to enjoy the world's top fashion industry event was Victoria Beckham, who was spotted sitting alongside Schiffer and the burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese at Roland Mouret's show.
It was just a brief stopover for the singer, however, as she was soon back in the UK for the Spice Girls reunion tour, with the fab five seen taking their families out in Manchester's Chinatown after a particularly successful show.
Good friend and celebrity fan Eva Longoria was also spotted with Mrs Beckham this week, with the Desperate Housewives star taking in a shopping trip in London's Oxford Street before taking in the Girl Power show.
While the Beckhams had both left California for the week – David was in Sierra Leone pursuing his charity commitments – going in the other direction was Fearne Cotton.
The TV presenter flew into Los Angeles this week for meetings and rehersals in preparation for the forthcoming show The Guiness Book of Records- Live, which it is hoped will catapult the 25-year old onto the American stage and achieve the same degree of success Cat Deeley has had in the country.
Far more serious meetings were taking place in the town of Davos in Switzerland, with Bono, Naomi Campbell and Harry Potter star Emma Thompson attending the World Economic Forum rather than heading off to world-class skiing facilities just nearby.
