Tara thinking of the writers as she goes on Miami holiday
American Pie actress Tara Reid has been snapped strolling along a beach in Miami - although it was less her choice of holidays destination that proved a talking point than her appearance.
Pictures taken of Reid, who also appeared in cult hit The Big Lebowski, on a photo shoot in Bali in 2006 prompted concern for her welfare as she looked worryingly thin.
However, the latest images show Reid to be much fuller-figured, and she looked relaxed while strolling along Miami's South Beach - an area of an island off Biscayne Bay.
The development of South Beach started in 1910, and it remains a popular holiday destination for tourists. Visitors are not only attracted during the daytime - when they can enjoy the beach and water - but also at night, when the nightclubs, restaurants and hotels come alive.
Americans and international tourists alike see South Beach as an ideal holidays destination, and as such the area is an amalgamation of different cultures. Perhaps the most notable example of this is the fact that, despite being a public beach, topless bathing is accepted thanks to a strong European and Brazilian influence.
Reid, who has admitted in the past to having a botched boob job (since corrected), kept herself covered up with a bikini and also indulged in a spot of beachwear shopping as she relaxed by the waterfront.
According to Fox News, Tara has some time on her hands as she is steering clear of acting until the writers' strike is over - clearly forgetting that writers are already penning news scripts.
"I totally plan to go back into acting once the strike stops," she told the news provider at Eva Longoria-Parker's recent Padres Contra El Cancer's 8th Annual 'El Sueno De Esperanza' benefit gala in Hollywood.
"The economy is so bad right now that people are afraid to put money back into acting. Even the shows that seem new, they really shot six months ago. So when it's all back up again, I will go back into it. That's my heart."
Thankfully, the economy hasn't put a stop to people going on holidays and taking out holiday insurance, and another celebrity to have followed Reid's example is Paris Hilton.
The famous person has been holidaying (although ostensibly working) in London recently, and is apparently enjoying the sights so much that she is considering a permanent move to the UK capital.
However, it is not the traditional tourist fare - the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, London Eye and the like - that has attracted Paris, but a more eclectic mix of London life.
"I love London, it's my favourite city in the world. I'm shooting my new show and having an amazing time," the Daily Mail quotes her as saying.
"I love the Brits, they rock! Everything from their personalities, style and of course the accents. I'd love to live here one day.
"I love going to Top Shop, they have the cutest clothes. I also love Selfridges, they carry my fragrance there and I always have a ball there."
