Singers take Italian holiday

Singers take Italian holiday
New parents Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony have recently been taking time out from the stresses of parenthood by enjoying a well-deserved trip to Milan.

The singers said goodbye to sleepless nights, high-pitched wailing and dirty nappies to soak up some European sun without twins Emme and Max, as part of Anthony's European tour.

After spending a few days in Madrid, Spain, the couple jetted into the Italian city of Milan, where Anthony was presented with an Honorary Award by the Milan Town Council at a press conference held at the Palazzo Marino.

The singer was given the award to honour his "unquestionable artistic value" and to thank him for choosing Milan as the location for his first ever concert in Italy.

Lopez and her beau were also spotted strolling leisurely through the streets of Milan and enjoying a relaxing spot of shopping before he was due to take centre stage at his Italian debut gig, as part of the Latin American culture festival Latinoamericando.

Meanwhile, fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger flew into Athens in Greece as part of celebrations for the ten-year anniversary of his Tommy and Tommy Girl fragrances.

Also on hand to help the American sartorial giant with the celebrations was Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon, who appropriately donned a satin champagne-coloured Grecian number from Hilfiger's fashion line.

Hilfiger, who has been a popular fashion guru for decades, also visited the Acropolis, guided by Aris Spiliotopoulos, the Greek Minister of Tourism. The designer looked sharp in dark shades and a smart hat, as he took in the sights of the ancient surrounds.

The Acropolis is a popular tourist attraction in Athens and sits at an altitude of 156 metres above sea level. The term Acropolis comes from the words "akra" and "polis" which in Greek means high town or the highest point of the town.

Other popular destinations in Athens include the road to Cape Sounio, which is famous of its scenic vistas and beautiful winding passages. Tourists usually love to stop off at nearby beaches or for a picnic under the area's many olive trees.
