Ronaldo in the Algarve

Ronaldo in the Algarve
As a professional footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo spends a lot of his time working out and playing football to an extremely competitive level.
So when the football season ends, it is only natural that he likes to kick back and relax on a cruise with friends in the Algarve, Portugal.
Wearing some tiny green shorts and a white vest the Portuguese star had returned to his homeland to unwind with his friends - despite his son having been born just the month before.
The former Manchester United star donned a pair of shades and flip flops as he got into holiday mode and had assembled a large entourage of friends to help him forget the stresses of the beautiful game.
Ronaldo had left his son with his mother Dolores at the villa in the Algarve that he is renting as he headed out on the boat with this friends.
The villa was rumoured to be where the star had his first meeting with his new son, according to the Daily Mail.
Ronaldo had been in New York with his girlfriend Irina Shayk - who is not the mother of his son.
The footballer is the main carer of the boy after he bought sole custody of his son from the waitress he slept with in America last year, who he encountered on a trip to Los Angeles.
With so much going on in his private life, it is little wonder that the star needed some time out on a holiday with his friends on the idyllic Portuguese coast.
The Algarve is a popular holiday destination with tourists all over the world - not just famous football stars. The area is renowned for its beautiful beaches, whitewashed towns and great golf courses.
However, a peaceful retreat it often is not - the area has been heavily commercialised as its popularity with tourists has increased and its resorts are sometimes criticised as garish, while its beaches are overcrowded.
However, those who venture slightly off the beaten track will discover a world of natural bays, scalloped beaches and breathtaking cliff lines, perfect for long walks. There are also quiet castle towns that have not yet been discovered by the masses and stretches of coastline that ice cream vans have not even heard of.
And, no doubt, neither has Ronaldo.
