Rihanna in Paris
Rihanna took time out of her gruelling schedule to enjoy a romantic break with her boyfriend Matt Kemp in one of Europe's most beautiful cities.

The Barbadian singing sensation headed for Paris with the Los Angeles Dodgers player, 26, and was spotted snuggling up to her beau at the Miu Miu after party.

At the Chateaubriand restaurant the pair certainly looked as if love was in the air, as they made some public displays of affection.

The pair's visit to the French capital coincided with Paris Fashion week, where the couple were seen soaking up the fashion forward designs of the catwalk.

Rihanna, who is known for her punk-inspired futuristic outfits, had dyed her hair red for the occasion and was seen showing off some bling while sipping champagne with Kemp.

However, she was looking slightly more demure than she had done at the Miu Miu fashion show earlier in the day, where she had been snapped in a flamboyant multi-coloured dress with a plunging neckline.

She had also run the risk of facing the wrath of animal cruelty protesters as she accessorised the outfit with a white fur stole.

Perhaps Rihanna hoped that her ruby high heels and matching hair colour would detract attention from the controversial piece. Hollywood actress Dakota Fanning and TV presenter Alexa Chung joined Rihanna at the party.

It is not hard to see why Rihanna would have chosen Paris for a romantic break with her boyfriend - the European city is renowned for its amorous charm.

Its various landmarks - the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Seine - are all charming to visit at sunrise and sunset, presenting holidaymakers with romantic views.

Furthermore, the city is bursting with artistic history, from the salons where the impressionist artists made their name to the Bastille, which was famously stormed in 1789.

And, of course, there are the shops. A fashionista like Rihanna surely won't have missed out on the opportunity to explore the vintage shops in the Latin Quarter, the high street bargains at the Avenue des Champs-Élysées or the wonderfully lavish Galeries Lafayette.

But one hopes that the superstar didn't get too caught up in the fashion and managed to sneak a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower with Kemp for a romantic glance out over one of the world's most dazzling cityscapes.
