Kirstin Davis joins Victoria's Secrets girls on Caribbean jewel of St Barts
While most workers are only able to nip to the shops or to the local park during a break from their day-jobs, the lucky leading ladies of Sex and the City have been busy living up to their jet-setting reputations.
But while Sarah Jessica Parker has been in cold and dark Europe promoting her own latest movie, Kristin Davis has managed to find the time to jet off to the Caribbean with her boyfriend James Russell.
Despite having only been together for a few months, the actress and the photographer appeared completely at ease in each other's company as they relaxed on the golden sands and in the warm, turquoise waters of St Barts.
The 44-year-old Davis, who once again takes on the role of Charlotte in the sequel to the comedy smash, is just the latest in a long list of stars who have opted to take time out on the Caribbean islands, which are an 'overseas collective' of France.
Indeed, though Jamaica may be more exciting or Cuba offer visitors more in the way of history and culture, when it comes to sheer luxury, St Barts takes some beating.
Along with its picture-postcard perfect beaches, most of which tourists can enjoy almost to themselves, the islands are home to chic bistros and top-end boutiques that wouldn't look out of place in Paris.
However, the Caribbean destination is just as exclusive as it is luxurious, and even a Hollywood actress such as Davis would be hard-pushed to find a place to stay over the Christmas period.
As well as the price, which places it out of the reach of most holidaymakers, St Barts is home to just 25 hotels, most of which have 15 rooms or fewer, meaning that visitors usually opt to stay in one of the numerous private villas dotted around the islands and, to book one of these, it's quite simply a case of 'who you know'.
And, just as growing numbers of Britons now feel compelled to check in with the office or catch up on a little work while on holiday, so too was the Sex and the City star's new squeeze required to fit some work into the couple's romantic break.
Luckily, Mr Russell's day job, aside from his work judging America's 'Next Top Model', is as the chief photographer for the US lingerie and swimwear brand Victoria's Secret.
Even better, his workmates for this latest sun-soaked assignment were supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio and relative newcomer Rosie Huntington-Whitely.
Both the Brazilian and the Devon-born 22-year-old followed Ms Davis's lead and wasted no time in diving into the warm Caribbean surf, though with Ms Ambrosio's boyfriend tagging along, it's likely that she was keen to get the work done and explore St Barts' other attractions.
If it's possible for a bikini model to tire of the beach, the islands are also home to some of the most fascinating historical sites in the Caribbean, such as the village of Lorient and the quaint Gustavia Harbour, which hark back to the days of French and Swedish colonial rule respectively.
