Kiefer Sutherland took some time out from his hectic acting schedule to relax in Italy with his girlfriend - and looked the picture of love.
The couple, who onlookers speculated might now be engaged, were pictured relaxing on holiday in Portofino in north-west Italy.
Sutherland, 43, who has been married twice before, and girlfriend Siobhan seemed oblivious to the commotion she had caused by sporting a diamond ring on her engagement finger during an evening out to a romantic restaurant together.
As the pair enjoyed each other's company in the quaint Italian town they were also spotted looking in the window of a jewellers, although the couple were not seen making a purchase.
Siobhan, who is a style director for Allure magazine, donned a demure top and skirt as they made their way around the Italian resort, while Sutherland wore a black shirt and trousers - not the coolest outfit in the sweltering Mediterranean heat.
Earlier in the day, the couple had been spotted topping up their tans by the hotel pool, with the 24 actor donning a skimpy pair of Speedos and his girlfriend in a revealing bikini.
Portofino was a modest destination for the couple to choose and showed that they had tried to shy away from the celebrity scene in popular haunts for the rich and famous, such as St Tropez or Miami.
The resort has a beautiful harbour which is lined with pink and yellow houses and most guests arrive by boat - also because the road into the town is extremely narrow.
Known as Liguaria's most exclusive seaside resort, Portofino has a rich literary history with Guy de Maupassant and Truman Capote both having frequented the area on holiday.
As a result of its popularity with well-off holidaymakers, the town is rich with designer boutiques and glamorous cafes, offering visitors the chance to soak up the Italian weather in style.
For those who like to get out and about and explore the great outdoors, there are some fabulous walking trails around the village, which wind into the protected Parco Naturale Regionale di Portofino.
It is also possible to rent mountain bikes and trail maps, as well as motor boats, from the local tourist office.
However, for Sutherland and his current belle it seemed as though the simple things in life were enough to entertain them on this particular Italian job.
