While most celebrities seem to head to the beaches of the Caribbean the minute they get a reprieve from their hectic schedules, they might choose to reconsider should they have Jessica Biel waiting for them in Vancouver.
With the actress currently in the Canadian city shooting her latest movie, pop star Justin Timberlake made the trip to see her from his Los Angeles base, well and truly scotching rumours that the A-listers are no longer a couple in the process.
Given that it's nearly November, it was far from a sun-soaked
holiday, though, as pictures taken by trailing paparazzi show, Jessica and Justin were happy enough just to be together again, with the couple ditching the glamorous red carpet frocks and tuxedos in favour of warm jackets and hats as they strolled the streets of the popular city.
When they did decide to get in from the cold, they then shunned Vancouver's acclaimed restaurants and bar scene in favour of a cosy cinema, checking out the new Spike Jonze version of Where the Wild Things Are.
One source close to the couple revealed to Hollyscoop.com: "They laughed a lot. Justin got comfortable, putting his feet up on the back of the seat in front of him, and his head on Jessica's shoulder."
With Ms Biel likely to be hanging around for some time yet due to work commitments, she will no doubt have plenty of opportunity to see first-hand why Vancouver is not only a major holiday destination but is also routinely named as one of the best places to live in the world.
Among the visitor highlights are the Vancouver Maritime Museum, the massive downtown Metropolis shopping mall and the beautiful 55-acre VanDusen Botanical Garden, located right in the heart of the city.
However, the Canadian city is equally as famous for being the perfect holiday location for fans of the great outdoors, with visitors able to enjoy a range of activities amid some of the world's most stunning scenery before heading back into the buzzing city centre to enjoy an international restaurant scene, chic
hotels and pumping nightlife.
Right on the doorstep of this great city, locals and tourists alike head out to enjoy water sports such as canoeing, boating and fishing, while Vancouver Island is home to walking and mountain biking trails to suit all abilities.
And even those holidaymakers looking to take it easy during their time away are able to take advantage of the great outdoors, with the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which dates back to 1889, just a few minutes' bus ride from downtown, and cable cars running up to the peak of Grouse Mountain, which offers spectacular views over the city and beyond.
And then, of course, there's always the cinema for those wishing to
holiday like the stars.
