Jennifer Aniston enjoyed a romantic Valentine's Day break in the Bahamas with on-off boyfriend John Mayer, X17 online reported on Monday (February 16th).
The former Friends star, who has just celebrated her 40th birthday, boarded a private jet with the 31-year-old singer last Thursday and flew to the remote island of Eleuthera.
The trip - which saw the couple stay in an exclusive luxury gated villa - followed immediately after Aniston's birthday bash at her Thai-inspired Beverly Hills mansion.
A source told the news provider: "John decided to surprise her on her 40th birthday, by telling Jennifer he had organised a romantic getaway for the two of them for Valentine's Day.
"Jen usually goes to Cabo or to Hawaii so the Bahamas was something new for her."
The swanky pad is located alongside white sandy beaches in the north of island, where songstress Mariah Carey owns a home and tied the knot last year with Nick Cannon.
According to the news provider, the loved-up-again couple spent most of their time shacked up in the villa, which is located close to a property belonging to singer Lenny Kravitz.
It is believed that Aniston and Mayer may well have spent at least one evening with Kravitz, who is currently building a new home recording studio there.
The couple were subsequently spotted at the airport going their separate ways, although it has been confirmed that Mayer will accompany the actress on the red carpet at the Oscars.
The X17 photographer, who captured the pair sharing a passionate kiss and embrace, added: "Jen looked really upset to be leaving John. They were a cute couple, but Jen appeared to be much more concerned about separating from her boyfriend than John did. John always keeps his cool."
Britons have long been enchanted by the Bahamas, with its 700 islands and 2,000-plus cays, plus a plethora of glorious beaches and the obligatory sunny climate.
The hottest months tend to be between May and October - when it is also the wet season - but the mercury regularly tops 30C in the southern islands between June and August.
People take
holidays to the archipelago all year round but it is worth noting that the peak season is between mid-December and mid-April, so booking
hotels well in advance is advisable.
Finally, anyone planning to head to the Bahamas should ensure that they have
holiday insurance in place, particularly if they are likely to get involved in watersports.
