Newly-crowned F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and his Pussycat Dolls girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger were pictured sharing an intimate moment as they arrived in Los Angeles yesterday (November 20th).
Despite the incredible media scrum that accompanied Hamilton's dramatic title-clinching fifth place at the Brazilian Grand Prix earlier this month, the pair were not captured with their lips locked.
Indeed, they have often shunned the media limelight in the past, but there was nothing shy about the romantic kiss shared by the loved-up couple at LAX airport, which was snapped by paparazzi.
Although it is unclear why they have jetted out to the city, they may well be taking extended
holidays ahead of their planned trip to Hawaii, where they will celebrate New Year and Hamilton will meet Scherzinger's parents.
Another reason for the pair to be feeling happy is the recent news that Hamilton plans to splash out by taking his loved ones on Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic flight to the moon.
The McLaren star is set to shell out £125,000 per ticket in order to book spots for himself, Scherzinger, father Anthony, stepmother Linda and half-brother Nicholas.
As an insider revealed: "He is on the way to becoming the first billionaire sportsman, so what better way to spend his fortune? Lewis thinks it would be the perfect way to say thank you to Nicole and his family for their support throughout his triumphant year."
Whatever their plans, the pair - who were spotted wheeling a trolley with a huge pile of bags at the airport - are sure to be hanging out with celebrity chums and frequenting five-star
hotels.
They have become increasingly close since they met for the first time at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Germany at the end of last year and Scherzinger is reportedly planning to buy a house in London to be closer to Hamilton.
Like many other travellers, they may well have chosen to head to LA for its vibrant and energetic atmosphere, where beaches and parks are equally as prominent as glitzy A-lister bars and swanky restaurants.
Holidays in the city can be incredibly versatile as it displays a wide range of arts and architecture, plus an eclectic mix of musical influences and a mind-boggling concoction of eateries and wines.
And just like so many places tarred with the brush of cliches handed down through the generations, there is far more to LA than meets the eye - you just have to scratch the surface to reveal its enduring charms.
