Former popstar Kerry Katona and husband head to Magaluf for break
The Spanish resort of Magaluf recently played host to television presenter Kerry Katona, who was spotted taking a break on the popular British tourist destination with husband Mark Croft.

Looking a bit heavy compared to the toned image she presented after undergoing weight reduction surgery last summer, the 29-year-old mother of four was seen enjoying the island's sunny clime as well as its entertainment scene.

Boasting sandy beaches and azure waters, Magaluf is located in Majorca, a favourite British package holiday destination that is also the largest of Balearic Islands and attracts thousands of holidaymakers every year.

The other islands are Menorca and Ibiza, which are located in the Mediterranean Sea off the south-east coast of mainland Spain.

Alongside Palma Nova, Magaluf is one of the most popular resorts loved by British holidaymakers who, apart from heading there for its vibrant night life and sandy beaches, are attracted by its variety of water sports.

Everything from doughnuts, banana boats, diving and snorkelling to parasailing, fast rib boat rides and jet and water skiing is available in Magaluf, which has a variety of other daytime activities too.

Majorca, Magaluf and Palma Nova are the three main beaches on the resort that are ideal for individuals as well as families and they are equipped with bars and small shops where holidaymakers can charge up their batteries.

One of the main attractions for British holidaymakers is the nightlife, with big and small clubs as well as different kinds of bars available for everything from parties to hen and stag nights.

Some of the biggest nightclubs in the whole of Europe can be found in this holiday destination including BCM, which boasts "10,000 watts of sound and 400,000 watts of lighting systems", according to Magaluf Uncovered.

Others include Boomerang, whose line-up of music genres presented by a host of DJs includes dance, garage, old skool, rhythm and blues and hip hop and Poco Loco, which is equipped with a large outdoor terrace and a huge dance floor.

Those fancying a different experience while visiting Magaluf can check out nearby golf courses and other attractions such as its water parks and the amazing Pirates Adventure.

For most holidaymakers, the Pirates Adventure show is the highlight of their visit to Magaluf, according to Spanish-fiestas.com.

"Almost without fail both adults and children alike rave about the show which has attracted over three million visitors since it began in the mid 1980s," says the website.

The show uses a life-size pirate ship to tell the story of Captain Morgan and his sailors and their treasure quest that sees them sail across the seven seas.

A Buccaneers feast and pirate's punch is included in the show, which is watched by people sitting on the quarter deck or the main deck of the ship.
