With his bonus from Manchester United's weekend victory over Newcastle burning a hole in his pocket, England striker Wayne Rooney has been enjoying some time away in Italy with fiancé Coleen McLoughlin.
Predictably, since she has made a name for herself as a style icon for 'normal girls', the pair have
jetted off to Milan, the city long heralded as the fashion capital of the world.
Sporting designer shades, Wayne and the future Mrs Rooney have been spotted wandering among the boutiques of some of the world's most famous designers, including Gucci, Prada and Valentino, with Coleen in particular blending in among the stylish locals.
Given that Wayne has a tough couple of months football-wise ahead of him, it is unlikely that they will be enjoying Italy's other great highlight, its national cuisine.
As well as exclusive shops, the mainly industrial city of Milan boasts hundreds of family-run restaurants serving local pasta and pizza dishes, while visitors are also just a couple of hours away from the magnificent Italian lakes, the
holiday destination of the rich and famous, including Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney who owns a villa on the shores of Lake Como.
One man who is looking to offload his villa, albeit for a hefty £3 million profit, is Oasis star Noel Gallagher, who is allegedly unhappy with the fact singer James Blunt has muscled on the serenity of his Ibiza getaway.
The guitarist bought the getaway back in 1999 for £2.5 million from Tubular Bells musician Mike Oldfield and has been staying there every summer since, seeing the White Island as the perfect place to relax after a heavy touring schedule.
However, according to the Sun, he is "fed up" with former Army man "banging on about Ibiza like he owns the place", with a friend of the star revealing that he "can't stand the thought of Blunt writing cr*p tunes up the road".
Though Ibiza has gained a reputation for hedonistic clubs and dance music over recent years, it has nevertheless retained its tranquillity, particularly around the north side, where holidaymakers can enjoy
relaxing breaks on the near-secluded Mediterranean beaches.
While all this was taking place, however, Blunt was thousands of miles away in the Canadian city of Tornoto.
The 34-year old was in the city for promotional purposes and hooked up with the Spice Girls who were also playing a show there, with Mel B and her husband in particular enjoying the Toronto nightlife.
