Formula 1 racing phenomenon Lewis Hamilton took a leisurely pit stop on the beautiful Caribbean island of Grenada, with the latest woman in his life Pussycat Dolls stunner Nicole Scherzinger.

According to reports, after winning the Monaco Grand Prix, the 23-year-old racing whiz splashed out on the £50,000 romantic getaway, treating his new girlfriend to the glamorous jet set lifestyle to which she is accustomed.

The couple knocked back champagne from an unlimited supply as they flew into the island on a private jet to spend their sojourn on an exclusive, private estate. Hamilton and Scherzinger's stint on the island really is a pit stop, as young racer will soon have to head off to Montreal, Canada for his next race.

It's a pity the A-list pair cannot afford to spend too long on the island, as they will miss out on Grenada's Fisherman's Birthday Celebrations, which is a popular attraction among tourists and locals alike.

Gouyave, in the parish of St John, is the town where the Fisherman's Birthday Celebrations are most popular. As part of the joyous festivities, there are church services and blessings of fishermen's boats and nets, followed by boat races and late afternoon street festivals.

Meanwhile in Cannes, newly-wedded lovebirds singer Beyonce and rap star hubby Jay Z were spotted living the high life while on vacation with none other than the prince of opulence and ostentation himself, P Diddy.

Despite reports that Beyonce was upset with P Diddy for gate crashing her party at the VIP rooms and that Jay Z was incensed with Diddy for trying to upstage him, the A-list music power couple were nevertheless pictured lounging on Diddy's gigantic yacht.

Cannes is the location of the recent world-famous film festival and is known for its plethora of chic designer boutiques and happening events that are attended by the great and the good.

Right now, visitors to Cannes can expect to experience Quinzaine des Realisateurs or Director's Fortnight, which is an alternative to the official Cannes film selection and aims to "defend artistic, moral, professional and economic freedom in filmmaking".

After their stint in the south of France, Beyonce and Jay Z flew back to their home in Scarsdale, New York on Sunday, after spending the day in Monaco.
