Ellison to tie the knot after whirlwind romance
Glorious holidays in the sunshine are often the time for couples to express their love for it each other and that would certainly appear to be the case for Jennifer Ellison and Rob Tickle.

The couple, who have been together for around eight months, were on a five-star break in Mauritius when semi-pro boxer Tickle decided to pop the question to the former Brookside star.

Apparently, the 25-year-old Liverpudlian beauty has been dropping major hints over the past few weeks following an earlier admission in an interview with a national newspaper that she wants to get married and have three children.

Tickle clearly got the message and an insider said: "He took a ring out with him and got down on one knee one evening at dinner. Jennifer was absolutely delighted. She's totally in love."

Ellison has been unlucky in love in the past, after ending her six-year relationship and five-year engagement with Tony Richardson, 28, after it was claimed that he had cheated on her.

The Hell's Kitchen winner also alleged later that he had beaten her during their relationship, but now her whirlwind romance with Tickle will see them tying the knot next year.

She said: "Me and Rob haven't been together long, but when you fall madly in love with someone, you don't need to wait five years to take it to the next level.

"We'll get married next year - but it won't be a big celeb wedding, I only want an intimate affair with family and friends."

The blonde bombshell has become one of the UK's favourite poster girls following her rise to prominence on Brookside, and she is now forging a career in the West End following various TV appearances.

It is perhaps unsurprising that love was in the air for Ellison and Tickle in Mauritius, as it is a popular destination for couples taking holidays from all around the globe.

It is the most accessible island in the Indian Ocean and is noticeably versatile, appealing to celebrities and budget-travellers alike with its delightful beaches, luxurious hotels and warm, friendly people.

Despite its proximity to Africa, Mauritius is heavily influenced by its ties with Britain and France, while it also enjoys a typically tropical climate all year round, with the winds from the south-east meaning it never feels too humid.
