Cowell and Sinitta making waves in Barbados

Cowell and Sinitta making waves in Barbados
Pop guru Simon Cowell has been making a splash in Barbados after being pictured on holiday in the idyllic destination with his ex-lover Sinitta, the Daily Mail reports today (December 19th).

The X Factor judge was snapped zipping across the clear blue waters on a jet ski, while Sinitta also smiled broadly as she took to the water with a vehicle of her own.

Holidays in the Caribbean are hugely popular but this particular trip will prove to be no more than a drop in the ocean for Cowell, who is reportedly picking up £250,000 per day from the contestants on this year's show.

The 49-year-old is raking in the profits from winner Alexandra Burke's 'Hallelujah', which is expected to be the Christmas number one.

But remarkably, his company also owns the rights to the Jeff Buckley cover and the original Leonard Cohen version, which have been re-released and may complete the top three next week.

The trip with Sinitta and her adopted children Magdalena, three, and Zac, two, comes after her husband Andy Wilner decided to spend the Christmas period with his family and children from a former marriage.

The couple are reportedly spending increasingly less time together as Wilner has been living in Hong Kong since April and Sinitta still resides in the UK.

Cowell invited her to accompany him to his luxury mansion in Barbados - where they plan to stay for a month - and the music mogul is no doubt enjoying her company after splitting up with girlfriend Terri Seymour.

Sinitta explained in a recent interview with Hello magazine that the pair had been looking forward to the trip for some time.

She said: "We're so ready for this now. Simon's been so flat out with work, he's pretty much on his knees. And it's been a difficult and emotional year for me too.

"There's been lots of good stuff too, but it will be nice to be in an environment where the world stops for a few weeks."

Barbados draws in tourists for their holidays with a combination of stunning sandy beaches, scorching sun, plush or more affordable hotels and the friendly demeanour of the locals.

Indeed, it is no surprise that around a million holidaymakers descend on its shores every year to recharge their batteries and get away from the humdrum routine of everyday life.
