BBC sports presenter Gary Lineker might have made headlines recently about the amount of buttons he has undone on his shirt when broadcasting, but the chances are he's not too bothered. That's because he's been extremely busy jetting across the globe with his girlfriend of six months, and it's unlikely he'll have had time to reflect on how much chest he should be showing in Match of the Day.
Lineker and his partner Danielle Bux are now considering moving in together after taking in Miami, Rome, Vienna and Barbados over the half year. Pictures of the couple strolling on an isolated beach in the Caribbean were published in the red tops recently. They were particularly noteworthy for the fact that Danielle was sporting a skimpy black bikini and had her arms wrapped around Lineker's neck.
But wouldn't you be happy if you were staying at a
holiday villa in Barbados? Famous for its tumbling waves and white and pinkish sandy beaches, Barbados is ideal for sports fans like Lineker - it offers surfing, scuba diving, helicopter rides, golf and cave exploration - while former air hostess Danielle will no doubt be hitting the jewellery stores, clothes shops and trying out the exotic drinks. After all, she should have a healthy budget - according to showbizspy, Lineker is worth an estimated $60 million.
Another celebrity who might be doing a bit of retail therapy at present is Cheryl Cole. The Girls Aloud singer and wife of Chelsea left back Ashley Cole has jetted off to Thailand with fellow band mates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh as part of an attempt to put allegations of infidelity on the part of her husband behind her. The stress of the past few weeks has clearly taken its toll on the star, as her weight has dropped to around six stone. However, she looked happy and relaxed on the beach in Thailand and the holiday seems to be doing the trick.
"Cheryl needed this time away to get her strength back to face the world," a source told the Daily Mail. "Ashley is still her husband and they love each other. They were planning a future. It's too much just though throw away."
Holidaymakers who follow Cheryl's lead and
travel off to Thailand could also take advantage of the idyllic beaches, although there are a number of other landmarks that should also be taken in if possible. Damnoensaduak, for instance, which is 40 minutes south of Nakhon Pathom, is a floating market where farmers congregate on canals each morning in boats filled with produce. Meanwhile, magnificent ruins of temples, palaces and crumbling fortresses can be seen in Ayutthaya, which is located 70 kilometres upstream from Bangkok.
