Becki Newton in Florida

Becki Newton in Florida
Becki Newton deserved a break after completing her long stint as catty secretary Amanda in the American television show Ugly Betty and Florida was her chosen destination to recoup.

The 31-year-old star took the holiday with her husband Chris Diamantopoulos and the pair were pictured looking very much in love strolling along a Florida beach in the sunshine.

Chris was later seen giving his wife a massage on a sun lounger - perhaps to ease the aches of carrying her first child.

While Becki had attempted to keep her bump hidden with a checked tunic sundress a hint of a baby-induced curve was just visible underneath her flattering outfit.

It will be both Chris and Becki's first child, perhaps making the holiday before the impending birth all the more necessary.

Becki had already pushed back the filming start date of her next television project - Love Bites - after learning of her pregnancy to give her more time to spend with her newborn baby before returning to work, according to USA Today.

The actress and her husband took time out from New York, where they both live, to visit Florida. They have previously said that when they met it was love at first sight, after Chris caught Becki's eye in the Times Square subway.

They married in May 2005.

Florida must have seemed like a brilliant holiday choice for a couple who spend the majority of their time in the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple, as New York is often affectionately referred to.

The state boasts tourist attractions, such as the Florida Keys, which are a top location not only for beach-lovers but also for divers eager to see the corals, fish and ship wrecks that lurk beneath the water.

Furthermore, Florida - also known as the Sunshine State - is home to Walt Disney World, great for families who are fans of themeparks , as well as Busch Gardens and Magic Kingdom Park.

But there is more to Florida than themeparks and water worlds - the state boasts some of America's most luscious landscapes, with winding waterways, tranquil lakes and dense forest land to explore, as well, of course, as those legendary beaches.

And for city dwellers, like Chris and Becki, who after a few days at the coast may start to miss the buzz of city life, Florida has some great metropolises too.

Tallahasse is the capital, while Miami is perhaps the most famous and glamorous city that Florida has to offer.

With so much going on in this state, it is not hard to see why Becki and Chris chose to relax in Florida before their lives goes up a gear with the arrival of a baby.
