Adams and Moore tie the knot in Savannah
Celebrity couple Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore tied the knot on Tuesday (March 10th) in a secret ceremony in Savannah, Georgia, according to a report by PerezHilton.com.

The pair reportedly started dating in December 2007 but were keen to keep the news quiet, only officially revealing to the world that they were an item in March 2008.

However, the road has been somewhat rocky since then and they eventually split up last July, with Adams, 34, being particularly critical of the role played by the media.

He said at the time: "Unfortunately, I am allergic to paparazzi and have found the best antidote to that sort of nonsense is staying behind the guitar and typewriter.

"[I'm] staying close to my support group of friends and bandmates and not engaging in activities that prevent me from taking care of myself or others."

In the aftermath of the break-up, actress Moore, 24, was spotted by photographers spending time with her ex-boyfriend DJ AM, who managed to survive a horrific plane crash in South Carolina in September.

But that reunion did not last and singer/songwriter Adams came back into the frame, proposing to her in February to bring about this week's seemingly intimate but low-key wedding.

Discussing their relationship, Moore told Marie Claire magazine recently: "He's a good egg. I'm in awe of him: his brain, his passion. He's truly one of a kind."

Indeed, a source told PerezHilton.com that she is "very, very happy" with developments, while the news provider also quoted an insider as describing Adams as "completely head-over-heels about her and a changed man".

Savannah is a popular destination with Americans on their holidays, with its rich history and grand architecture, punctuated by the very definite presence of all manner of debauchery.

Described by the Lonely Planet as being "like a southern belle with a split personality", the town boasts impressive mansions and colonial buildings, yet revels in its more sinful side.

It has often been contrasted with sister city Charleston, which is renowned for its cultural attractions, and its lively, feel-good atmosphere has seen it labelled as a "beautiful lady with a dirty face".

There are plenty of hotels for visitors to choose from, while rumours that the town is haunted have led to the creation of an entire cottage industry to cater for ghost-hunters.

Finally, as with any trip they book, travellers should ensure that they have secured holiday insurance before they head to Savannah.
