90210 star Annalynne McCord on Malibu beach

90210 star Annalynne McCord on Malibu beach
Actress Annalynne McCord recently inadvertently promoted tourism in California when she was spotted making the best of the state's weather while shooting scenes for a television show.

The 22-year-old 90210 star was photographed on a Malibu beach set of the series in a yellow bikini as she walked in 70-degree weather with the production crew in tow.

According to the Daily Mail, which published the pictures, despite the fact that the leggy blonde is relatively unknown to UK audiences, she is a big hit in the US thanks to her role as Naomi Clark in the series.

The newspaper added that Ms McCord has also become famous as a result of her relationship with 24-year-old Twilight actor Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in the popular vampire film.

Located in western Los Angeles County, California, Malibu is a popular tourist destination best known for its share of Hollywood celebrities and, strangely enough, natural disasters such as wild fires.

However, this cannot negate the fact that the destination is home to miles of stunning beaches, which apart from influencing A-list stars to set up base in the area, draw tourists from all over the world.

One of the places worth checking out while holidaying in the area is the Malibu Pier, which was immortalised in the popular television series Baywatch starring Pamela Anderson.

The pier is one of the prominent attractions of Malibu, which is also renowned for its surfing thanks to the Pacific Ocean's provision of countless perfect waves.

People who wish to steer clear of the obvious attractions while visiting Malibu may want to sample its numerous parks and green spaces, which offer great opportunities for picnicking and other outdoor activities.

Celebrity spotters are advised to drop into the Malibu Country Mart if they want the opportunity to obtain that all-elusive photo with their favourite idol.

Featuring a number of upmarket shops that are frequented by the stars, the mall also offers great shopping opportunities for visitors, and is an alternative to the nearby Malibu Colony Plaza.

Meanwhile, British Airways recently launched its first service from London Heathrow to Las Vegas, which is less than five hours from Malibu by car in the adjoining state of Nevada.

The daily service could be an ideal travel option for those visiting Malibu as it offers an opportunity for holidaymakers to pass through the world-famous gambling capital.

According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), British people are the number one overseas market for the city, which can cater for everyone no matter the budget.

Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing at the LVCVA explained that "access to the top chefs and restaurants, superb entertainment, relaxing spas and unparalleled shopping is within a 3.5 mile corridor".
